Camp NaNo and other news.

I’ve not yet set my goal, but I’m going to add to the book I worked on in November. I love the flexibility of camp. The ability to work on an already started project, to edit and rewrite instead of write, to go for short stories, and the ability to set your own goal really work for me.
In other news, I’m working on getting ready for Romance Novel Convention and my trip to Vegas in June. I’m also teaching a class on how to publish eBooks at one of our local libraries next month. Have I mentioned that last week Kid 1, who is 16, decided she was going to graduate high school in May? (We knew she would be eligible to graduate but the plan had been to stay in HS and use the dual enrollment to get a discount at the community college. Other things have come up that changed that.) I’m working on getting all the normal stuff you do all of senior year to get ready for graduation, in two months. Oh, have I also started a new part time job this week, and it’s spring break.
Busy? That’s an understatement.
Now what?
Posted: March 24, 2016 Filed under: Risking Alex | Tags: Melissa Stevens, Risking Alex, spring break Leave a commentThe horse races are mostly over, that means no more weekly trips to Tucson, but Spring Break is upon us. I’ve got a week ahead with 4 kids at home. I’m prepared though, I’ve put together a list of chores I want done. When they get on my nerves too much, I’ll give them something else to do….
Meanwhile, I’ll be working on my next project, the content of which is currently top secret. I’m also working on the final details for Risking Alex.
Work, Edits, Racing, Illness
Posted: March 14, 2016 Filed under: Odds and Ends, Risking Alex | Tags: Melissa Stevens, racing, Risking Alex, white mountain chanat 2 CommentsAnd that’s just the tip of the iceberg in my house. I’ve got yet another cold, though I’m on the recovery side of it now. I’ve been making weekly trips to the racetrack in Tucson (3hrs away) for the last 5 weeks for racing (I’m a Paramutual teller, that means I sell the bets) and I have one week left. I am working on the edits for Risking Alex so I can get it out to my ARC readers, and that’s on top of kids, food, house, etc. that has to happen daily. I have more going on but a girl needs to have a few secrets….. What are you all up to?

Risking Alex Cover Reveal
Posted: February 8, 2016 Filed under: Risking Alex | Tags: cover reveal, Melissa Stevens, Risking Alex, white mountain chanat, WMC Leave a commentI know you’ve been waiting for it…And I’ve been teasing you, leading you on, but here it is… Finally.
Matt’s lost his wife and child and has spent the last two years existing. Moving from one day to the next without much interest in life. He had a hard time. Then he encountered Alex. She’s everything he’s not. Young, happy and full of life. She could also be his mate. Though he loved his wife, he’s never felt the draw of a mate before and he’s not sure he can resist it. But… what can he give her? He’s a widower more than ten years her senior, who’s heart is dried up and gone. Or is it? Should he take a risk on loving Alex or will she break his heart too?
Available for Pre-order soon!

Appearance Scheduled
Posted: January 20, 2016 Filed under: Romance Novel Convention | Tags: Appearances, classes, Romance Novel Convention, signing, tour Leave a commentI know, signings, tours, etc. While once the norm are not common unless the location is semi-local to the author or the author is someone huge like Stephen King or James Patterson. Well here’s a new one for me.
Romance Novel Convention is scheduled for June 1-5 in Las Vegas and I’ve agreed to teach not one, not two but FOUR classes. Right now we’re working on exact titles and descriptions for the classes but I’ll give you details as I have them. But if you want to see me, this would be a good opportunity!
It’s January already?
Posted: January 7, 2016 Filed under: Risking Alex | Tags: book release, Melissa Stevens, Risking Alex, series, WMC Leave a commentso here it is… (OMG) January already… What am I doing? Well, when I’m not working on the Old Man’s last minute work projects I’m working on something I like to call Risking Alex. What is Risking Alex you might ask? Well, it’s the next book in the WMC series. It’s the sequel to Jade’s Peace. Cover? Release date? I don’t have them yet but I will have them soon, I promise. I have the first draft done. I’m in the middle of the re-write and filling in gaps. I’m hoping to be able to send it to my editor by Feb 1… (please don’t lynch me if I don’t get it there on time..) My projected release date is some time in early to mid May…
BTW. If you see me online, please remind me to get back to work!!
Is this a book you’re interested in? Who’s story do you want to see next?
