Frigging Washer…

Is still not fixed. We got the part replaced and started it up, and it is still leaking. *sigh* So we dissected the thing again, and discovered that it has a crack in the outer tank. This is a major repair as well as an expensive one. After some discussion with the repair man, including asking exactly how did this happen?? Is the damage due to something I’ve done, he explains to me that this is because of a manufacturing issue. We look it up, I’m still under warranty, but only a partial warranty.

Together we called the manufacturer, and explain the issue. They agree to replace all the parts, including the ones no longer under warranty because the damage was caused by an item still under warranty, but I have to pay for the labor. I can live with that. It’s better than having to pay for it all, or replace the whole machine.

Parts will take a week or so to get here. In the mean time, we’re going to have to gather up the essentials and take them to the laundry mat to get us through until the washer is fixed. Not how I wanted to spend my time.
