About the Author:
Isaiah Gathings Sr. is an accomplished martial artist and has garnered much notoriety in the martial arts community. Isaiah has been training in the martial arts for over twenty-two years. He has cross trained in many different martial arts styles-Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to name a few.
Isaiah is the founder of the widely respected art “Soo Do Thai” which blends three martial arts styles together into one effective system (Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, and Muay Thai Kickboxing). He currently holds a 7th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, and a 4th level brown belt in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
He has competed in various competitions around the world, from sport karate, to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, to Mixed Martial Arts (M.M.A.) and in 2008, Isaiah was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall Of Fame.
Isaiah owns and operates the Academy Of Soo Do Thai, where he teaches his system of Soo Do Thai full time. He also teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts classes to amateur and professional fighters.
