What I’m reading ~ Rock Chick ~ Kristen Ashley

This is the first book in the Rock Chick series.

Indy Savage is a cop’s daughter and bookstore owner, she’s been in love with Lee Nightingale, and trying to catch his attention, since she was five. That was until ten years ago, when he told her that she was like his little sister, there was no chance anything was going to happen between them. She’s tried to get on with her life, but there one problem. No one else is Lee.

Now, she has trouble, one of her employees has lost a bag of diamonds and the people who it belongs to want it back. Badly enough that they started shooting at Indy and her employee. Lee’s willing to help, but he has a price. Can Indy bring herself to open up enough to let him in again?

What did I think?

I loved it. It was gripping in a way that kept me up until 3am, despite knowing I had to get up before six. I laughed, a lot. Bossy leading men really doesn’t do a whole lot for me, unless you pair it with a leading woman who doesn’t do what she’s told. I can’t wait to start the next book in the series. 4 stars

Still reading Kristen Ashley

I’m slowly working my way through her back list, one series at a time. I started with the Dream Man series and I was hooked, I can’t wait for the first book in the Chaos series to come out so I can see where the story goes next. I recently finished her Colorado Mountain series, and it was just as good, just as gripping, and hard to put down, and I’m ready for the next book in that series. I’m still having a hard time realizing that it’s 2am and I have to get up in less than four hours so that I can get a semi-decent amount of sleep, but the stories are so worth it.

I plan to start the Rock Chick books tonight, we’ll see how functional I am in the morning.
